Initiatives for Media Development

Our Podcasts The Initiatives for Media Development podcasts range from health accountability issues, womens health, women in politics, violence against women in elections, children's rights, migration , human trafficking, to Covid-19, amongst other topics. These audios provide powerful examples of human rights issues in Sierra Leone.

We have an impressive archive of podcasts and radio programs which have had significant uptake by community and policy leaders. We are trusted by our listeners and have proven effective results in improving the lives of Sierra Leoneans. Through our collaboration with 40 community radio stations and 160 listener clubs members across Sierra Leone, we have introduced a scaleable model to our podcasts. "Uman Political Barray" is a product of the project "2023 Elections: Enhancing the capacity of female journalists in community radio to address policy issues on SGBV." The broadcasts were produced in collaboration with 25 female radio broadcasters through the Sierra Leone Association of Women in Journalism. With thanks to the International Program for the Development of Communications (IPDC) of UNESCO.

"Leveraging community radio stations to inform and educate the public on CoVid-19" With funding from UNICEF Sierra Leone 10 editions of the 'leh we tok bot corona' were successfully produced and broadcasted in partnership with 40-radio station network across the country.
